Blooma is a foraging App designed to help users understand and identify flora and fauna in nature in New Hampshire. By using the camera on their device, users can scan surrounding plants, stones, tracks, and animals to identify them. After the unknown item is scanned the app will display important key information. This information will include the name, an image, a description, whether it is safe to interact with, and where the plants or animal is native to.

The app will be designed for campers, hikers, and other avid outdoorsmen to identify and understand unknown organisms or objects in nature. The app is designed as an education tool as well and will be accessible and easy to use for all age groups. For users planning a camping or hiking trip, by inputting the location of where the trip will be located the app will show plants to steer clear from before they arrive. Furthermore, other native landmarks, plants and animals will be highlighted for the particular location. For users who do not have access to a camera or are just curious to learn more about their surroundings the database archiving all native flora and fauna can be searched via descriptions and keywords. With Blooma we hope users can be educated and safe when venturing out into the New Hampshire wilderness.

Company Description

Tadros Design is a company that is based in Manchester, New Hampshire. Its primary creators and collaborative owners are Andrew, Emma, Jon and Sarah. Each of the designers has worked through the process of making an app for nature goers that helps identify plant and animal species, trails, landmarks and more targeted towards hikers, campers and those interested in the biology of the species around them by taking photos of that subject and having an information card pop up to learn more about. This team has worked through logo sketches, creating color palettes, tag lines, gathering data and information, analyzing competitors, creating a site structure, all the way to modifying the finished product until its completion.

We envision this app to be used by individuals who enjoy going out and learning more about nature, or using it as a tool to help advise them when in environments they are unfamiliar with. Andrew, Emma, Jon and Sarah believe that there is much to explore in nature and we can help our local New Hampshire community open their minds to the organic creations this world has for us to explore whether that be, going on hikes, identifying dangerous species, plant growth, and data about their environment that might not be instinctual.

We hope that Tadros Design will flourish to great lengths across America and encourage even the indoorsy homebodies that we take for granted what this beautiful earth has created for us. This would be possible through sponsors, additional team members and even the development in environmental science data which would help our app be used nationwide through its robust informational archive at the public’s disposal.
